A long time ago, I followed a stray dog into the University of Calgary. Four years later, I wandered out with a piece of paper that said something about English accompanied by a violent allergy to poetry, poets and people who like poetry and poets. I intended to use the powers bestowed on me to catapult myself to instant fortune and fame, so I wrote a bunch of stories. No one wanted them. So, I wrote a bunch of ads. No one wanted them…but thankfully, ZGM hired me anyway.
Since then, I’ve been doing my best to earn my keep as a writer. I chisel headlines, arm-wrestle brochures and occasionally spit out a good idea or two. My writing career is the worst thing that ever happened to my writing career, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
